Strawberry Shortcake - Shattered
I forgot to tell you that Michele broke my favorite glass Tuesday night. I've had the glass since 1980. It is my wine drinking glass. It is my Strawberry Shortcake glass. You should have seen the look on her face. I was talking to LaTonya on the phone when she came in to my room holding a piece of my youth in each hand. She looked really traumatized. After I got off the phone I went into the living room where she was eating dinner. She had her little head ducked and kind of shifted her eyes up at me and apologized for breaking my glass. Actually, I think her words were, "I'msorryIbrokeyourglassI'llbuyyouanewone." I felt so sorry for her I just kissed the top of her head. I can tell you that if I broke HER favorite glass that she had for 22 years, I would be devastated. Poor little thing.
Anyway, on Friday, while we were antiquing, we came across MY GLASS. The very same one. Now, you may not know this, but there are many many different styles of SShortcake glasses. This was the EXACT glass. Plus, it was in better shape than mine had been. SO, I now have a new glass. The store also had a Huckleberry Fin mug, SScake salt and pepper shakers, a decanter, a pillow, a thermos, and some curtains. I grabbed hold of myself and just bought the decanter, S&P shakers, and the thermos. I wonder whatever happened to my SSCake lunchbox? I'd really like to have that. And my lap tray. Anyway, I was SO excited. And Michele seemed a little embarrassed that I was so excited since Chris was with us. Oh well. :)
