Dawn's Digression.

Why don't I get email anymore? Do you suppose it has something to do with the fact that it takes me a week to write people back? It just might. Or maybe something to do with the fact that I don't have much to say? Maybe that, too.

I'm still in my rather funky mood. Not quite sure how to shake it. I borrowed "The Dummies Guide to Beating the Blues", but it isn't cutting it for me. I want something to tell me how to get my good mood back and keep it. I was having a lot of fun for awhile there.

I went last night and applied at a couple of places for a second job. There just isn't much out there. It's rather disheartening. Perhaps I will go a couple of more places tomorrow, and then try again next week.

We didn't participate in the walk afterall. It was rainy, and the women we were going with decided not to go. We still paid our fees, though, so we still did good.
The state fair was okay. I got to pet a bunch of baby goats. And I had some fried pickles.

Fried pickles are wonderful. Do not wrinkle your nose at me. I promise they are good. I, too, was leary when I was first coerced into trying them. But they are damn good. I had a hankerin' for them a few weeks ago, so Michele and I went to Land and Cattle to get some, but that crazy place has fried pickle spears. Idiots. They should be fried pickle slices. This is not rocket science. Last weekend, I fried up some pickles myself. It's not hard. It's easy to fry anything. Wish I had a FryDaddy, though. Give me a FryDaddy, and I'm an instant chef. *poof*

My class started yesterday. Proofreading and Editing. Maybe this will help with my terrible writing skills. When I was younger my writing skills were awesome. I thought I was pretty skilled. But after being out of school for so long, I can't punctuate to save my life. And let's not even start with my spelling. I am halfway through my HR classes now, and I am thrilled about that. It seems like I should be more than halfway, but at least I can see the end now. That helps.

I love the weather. It has been in the 60s for like two weeks now. Beautiful. And rainy. Goodness. How much would I love to be laying on the couch watching some movies today? Or my favorite-- turning on Animal Planet or Oprah and falling asleep to it. Nothing like waking up to some cute little animal show. Love it.

I just got up and hang my Halloween decoration on my cubicle. Now I feel all fall-ish and wish I had more decorations. I went back to the supply room, but I couldn't find our leaf cutouts. Now I want to cut pumpkins from orange paper and draw faces on them and hang them.
