Friday night I went to Alex's ROTC Senior Banquet. I don't get that kid at all. It is so amazing to me how different we are. He got all kinds of awards for his greatness. I have never met anyone so motivated in my life. And he's always been like that. Even when he was around 8 or so, my grandmother asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said he didn't care, he just wanted to be the leader. He has had perfect attendance for the ROTC functions for 4 years running. Only the second kid to ever do so at his school. This means he never missed a drill meet, never flaked out on collecting cans for the food bank, and always went to the carwashes.
I can't even commit to a full season of soccer.
Don't get me wrong. I am incredibly proud of my baby brother. It's just so strange how different we are.
