Dawn's Digression.

I just read the coolest thing in a Marilyn Manson song I've loved for a long time. I never took the time to read the lyrics, but it says something I absolutely love in Speed of Pain. "I hope at least we die holding hands. For always." Excuse me, I'm verklempt (Thanks, Melody, for the correct spelling!). That is probably the most romantic thing I've read in a long time. That would be such a testimony to the relationship you had while you were alive.
Arctic Drilling was passed. In the House, anyway. Senate has a history of rejecting it. I suppose it doesn't really matter since neither you or I will be here to see what we don't have anymore. The kids won't know. You don't miss what you never had. It just seems so fucked up to me. There isn't enough oil there to sustain us for more than 6 months! It will be like 10 years before we see any of that oil. It's just crazy. We actually import most of our from Canada. I wish I had the stats on me. The only way to help our oil situation is to lower our consumption. Just another example of how big oil rules. And that's all I have to say about that.
Texas Bans State From Recognizing Gay Unions
Thanks, ya'll.
You know, what would it take from the straight people if gay and lesbians had a few rights? Screw you. You think I chose to be this way? Who on Earth would choose that? What is interesting to me is that even though we are denied rights for loving each other, we go ahead with our civil unions and commitment ceremonies. Legal or not, we do it. How many straight people do you know that would get married if it weren't legal. Right on. So there. *sticks tongue out*
