Dawn's Digression.

I haven't had any time by myself in at least 3 weeks. We moved the computer into the living room so we can look at houses and wedding stuff together. I love my computer in here, but I am really missing my Dawntime. I haven't been able to put on my headphones and just chill. As a result, I've been a little snippy.
I bought my wedding dress last weekend. It was a perfect day.
I met Mom, Jennifer, and Shelley at David's Bridal. I tried on no less than fifteen dresses. We were just about to give up, when we tried on a sheath dress that I was positive would make me look like a fat cow. I didn't. It looked much better than the other dresses. The sales lady got an excited look on her face and ran off. She came back with a dress for me to try on. We had all seen it on the hanger, but didn't think it was me. It has a ton of beads and lace. I tried it on.
When I stepped out of the dressing room, Jennifer and Shelley took a deep breath. They both had tears in their eyes. And of course, as soon as they started crying, I did, too. Obviously, this was my dress. I pulled out Michele's credit card at the counter, but Mom told me she was paying for it. I was so touched. Mom has really come around. I thought she might, but I really didn't expect it to happen so fast.
After the visit to the bridal shop, we picked up some Wendy's and headed back to the house to eat with Michele. Then we went to the wine tasting. My goodness, I love those wine tastings. This time they had us in the restaurant instead of in one of the classrooms, and the dynamics were very different. It seemed a little more subdued. I had a great time. It was really nice to be around friends for awhile. Afterwards, we went to Ojeda's for dinner. It really turned into more of an engagement party. Then I came home and spent some really nice quality time with my honey.
This week has been pretty much a blur. We have been completely slammed at work, and I've been on the phone what seems like all week making phone calls to DJs and reception sites. I still have no DJ. But I do have a reception site. That was quite a beating. I had decided on the Holiday Inn, but Michele has a friend that works at the Sheraton and Radisson, so we had her see if she could beat the deal at the HI. She didn't beat it, but she came close enough we had to take her up on it. The Radisson is just so much nicer, AND we can have it on a Saturday instead of a Friday. Woo-hoo! So there you have it.
Tomorrow we're going to look at houses. Pre-owned this time. I am very excited about this. I love to look at houses. And so far I really like the new real estate agent. I won't even go there about the old one. She was awful.
Thank goodness for a three day weekend. I need sleep. In a bad way. I say that, yet I'm sitting here typing and watching TV. Perhaps I will go to bed after I finish "Maid in Manhattan". *yawn* Yes, maybe I will.
