Nine Pounds

Yay! I've lost 9 pounds since January 6. Woo-hoo! And I was WAY bad this week.

Last night I punished myself by staying at the gym longer than usual. I have to say my heart wasn't in it, and it wasn't nearly as fun as it usually is. I am still working on upping my cardio. I am so cardio-handicapped. It's really bad. But I'm getting better, and that is what counts.

So, this morning, I was driving to work, probably about 60 mph on LBJ, and suddenly I hear this awful noise. The back of the truck is vibrating like mad. A million thoughts came to mind. My first thought was, "This is it. It's breaking down." My second thought was, "Shit. I need to take Michele to the airport in like 3 hours, and she still needs to be packed. If she has to come get me, it will screw up everything." So, I started trying to get over about 4 lanes to the shoulder. Do you think anyone would let me over? Of course not. Finally, a kind driver let me over. And wouldn't you know it, I'm at the part of the highway with the least amount of shoulder. I'm surprised I didn't get run over getting out of the truck. I walked to the back of the truck, and didn't see anything. I was afraid to look underneath. But I did. It was my spare tire. The nut came off the screw and the tire had fallen. Thank goodness the tire was still in place for the most part and it wasn't rolling down the highway like last time. The poor screw has been completely filed down by the asphalt. But no harm was done, I still have my spare tire, and thank GOD, the truck didn't break down. Now I just need to go buy a new screw and nut. I wonder what kind of nut I need so that it quits coming loose? *sigh*

Boy howdy, was I ever Cranky Spice last night. First off, I didn't get home from the gym until 7. Michele didn't get home from work until almost 8. That kinda ticked me off. I realize, of course, it isn't her fault, but for some reason I was cranky anyway. I ended up falling asleep reading the Diary of Virginia Woolf. Actually, I was reading the introduction to the diary. I haven't even made it past that yet.
