Broadcasters Say They're Cleaning Airwaves
Yahoo! News - Broadcasters Say They're Cleaning Airwaves
What do you think of this?
I think this is hard. And I think I'm somewhat of a hypocrite here. I think TV has gone way too far. Actually, I mean public TV. Cable/satellite is different. Let's say I have a 6 year old that I don't want exposed to murder and sex. Exactly what channel will I put the TV on? Pax? Discovery? PBS? Right. Either you end up with Lassie, Little House, or a documentary. (All three of which I'm fine with, BTW.) But why does it seem that there are so few sitcoms and dramas that are truly family shows? I can't believe the language that is used in prime time television.
Then again...freedom of speech. If you don't like it, turn it off. Right on. I say that sometimes.
The whole thing with Howard Stern is amusing. I guess I don't know what he's done lately that was offensive. He has always been offensive and they've tried to take him off the air before. So what's the deal now?
Is this all because of Nipplegate?
