Dawn's Digression.

My eyes are bloodshot this morning. I look like poopy on a stick. I took an Ambian last night to make sure I'd sleep through the night. I certainly did. Usually when I take Ambian, I wake up completely refreshed. Not so this morning. I needed at least another two hours of sleep. I also woke up without my shirt on again.

When I said I would probably be blind in one eye in five years, that was 100% my words, and not based on anything the doctor said.

We got new fish. Two new baby goldfish. They make McKenzie look like a monster. They're so cute. Michele wants to name them Idgie and Ruth, but I'm not real keen on that. We'll just have to see what we end up calling them.

I guess I didn't tell you Muriel died. Poor Muriel. We had noticed she wasn't looking well for quite awhile. On Sunday, I noticed she was squeaking each time she breathed. I felt so bad for her. I just kept hoping it wouldn't last for long. The poor baby was suffering, and I just can NOT kill. (Don't even start that, "But you eat meat..." crap.) Sunday night before I went to bed I checked on her, and she was dead. We buried her Monday after work under the bushes in the back yard. Now Eve is all alone. :( We really don't want to get another mouse. We don't pay as good of attention to them as we did when we first got them. We're not horrible mousie mommas, but they could definitely do better. We're concerned for Eve, though, since they are social critters.

After the eye doctor on Saturday, I met Melody for lunch. I was driving like somebody's grandma in the right hand lane. I was feeling all discombobulated (yesterday's word of the day), and it was a little scary. But I made it in one piece with no close calls. I love Monte Cristos. Those are so good. I had some left over and I put it in the back of the truck. Monday when I got to work, I noticed it was still in the back. Grody. I have an awful habit of this. The week before I had left Chinese in the back. I don't put it in the cab because food really stinks up a vehicle. And I just forget it is in the back. A~, Melody and I had lunch, then we went to buy her some fish, and went back to her place. Her fish are cute. My fish are cute, but they're goldfish. Oooooo.

Last night when I got home from work, I decided I was going to go ahead read The DaVinci Code. I knew that once Michele got home, I could forget reading. She didn't get home until after 7, so I got to read a bunch! I'm 100% sure I should read it slower and really take the time to comprehend everything they're saying, but I can't slow myself down. That's just part of my annoying reading style. I am a bit confused about something going on in the book. Maybe when I see Chulie next she can help me out with it.

I'm still at the old office. Not that I'm complaining. At all. I'm just trying to lay low. I still have all my stuff in boxes, and that is okay. The drive in has been wonderful the last few days. I actually get here early around 7:15 or so since it only takes me about 30 minutes. I bet it would be even quicker if I left earlier in the morning. I just can't imagine myself leaving before 6:30, though. I am already finding it bizarre to be leaving while it's dark. I love leaving early, too.
