Dawn's Digression.

The last week has been much better than the previous two. I'm not sure what has made it better. I haven't felt crazy at all! Well, okay, I did for a few hours yesterday. Everything was peachy, then I was needy. So, I annoyed the piss out of Michele by demanding her attention. Since I was irritating her, I thought it would be a great time to go buy a new bra. I tried on more than TEN bras. And I bought one. I ended up needing a bigger size than I used to, which depressed me. I walked past Dress Barn, just to see signs stating that location was going out of business and everything is 30% off, so I had to go in. Right? I ended up paying $50 for a sweater and a black shirt. I've been needing a black shirt (a girl can never own too much black), but I'm not sure I needed to spend as much as I did on it. Michele seemed disappointed in my decision to spend $50 on clothing when I was just bitching about being broke. Since I could easily see her point, I became disgusted with myself and angry. So then I was poopy for a couple of hours. I feel so guilty about buying that stuff. I keep saying I'm not buying Christmas presents for my friends, etc because I'm broke. And then I spend $50 on a sweater and a shirt. I actually do somewhat need a sweater. I only have one I can wear. But still. I didn't NEED it. You know, not like I NEED my truck inspected. :( At least I talked myself out of buying a new computer this weekend.
I slept all day Saturday, which is not like me. I took a 3 hour nap. And I slept on my back. That is when you know it is serious. I was passed out. Saturday night we had one of Michele's Christmas parties (it was unspeakably lame).
A stranger gave me a wonderful gift Saturday night at the Christmas party. Michele and I were talking to one of her acquaintances, and we were talking about my commute and about me being moved to Irving/Las Colinas next month. She pointed out that once the tollway is completed, it will actually take me LESS time to get to Irving than it would for me to get here. I had not even thought of that. It will be months before the tollway is completed, but something that simple made the situation at least livable for me and changed my perspective. Thank you, kind stranger.
