An Office Scene...
Jennifer's telephone rings.
J: Oh no!
D: Who is it?
J answers telephone and is quiet.
J: Okay.
silence
J:Okay.
D feels her heart fall to her feet.
J: Okay, so I just update that in the notes section?
D can feel her heart beating again.
J hangs up.
D: Who was it?
J: Home office.
D: You scared the CRAP out of me!
J: Sorry, I saw the area code and thought maybe we were getting news.
D: No more "Oh, Crap!" when the phone rings.
J: Sorry.
This is how paranoid we are today. Every email and every time the phone rings, we think it is the boss man letting us go. We wish they'd just tell us and get it over with.
I found out a bit ago that my interview tomorrow is with two individuals, one of whom I used to support. I'm incredibly nervous, and I don't want to go. After talking with Michele last night, it was easy to see that they will need to offer me MANY more thousands of dollars to make it worth my while to change jobs. I get some really cool discounts here, and if I leave now, I won't be vested, which will cost me a couple of grand. *sigh*
