Props For My Peeps

It's interesting how sometimes it's not the people you think it will be who are there for you. If there is anything I've learned over the past few months, it's who my friends are. It is enlightening to find out who will go out of their way for you and to see who doesn't really give a good crap what is going on in your life. I've had some surprises. I think more good than bad, but the bad ones have been there, too, and were very disturbing. What cracks me up are the people who ask, "What can I do for you?" and then you tell them, and they give it right back. Um, hello? But let's look at the positive.

First of all, one of Michele's friends totally stepped up today, and will be coming to check on the cats multiple times. We never talk to her. Never. But Michele said she didn't hesitate at all. Just said, "No problem, I'll be over at seven to see the house and get directions." How freakin' cool is that? And then there are Patti and Helen who have bent over backwards, and are even paying to go up there and stay with us. Very cool. Chulie (*waves* Hi Chulie!) addressed invitations. Jennifer has helped with decision-making and throwing the shower, and whatever else I threw at her. My mother had been a dream. At least after the difficulty right after Easter (for more info, read the end of April). My Michelle and Eric drove WAY out of their way for me. Rachel has the mice. Dad has the dog. Carol has the cats. Melody keeps me from freaking the hell out and leaving Michele every time I get mad. (I'm prone to over-reaction. Yes, me. I know it is surprising!) Anyway, I guess I'm still feeling good about my peeps.

Oh, and that's Michele over there.
