My birthday.

I had a great birthday.

There's nothing about it that made it great. It just was. I'll admit I was very disappointed when all my co-workers (except Jennifer, of course) forgot my birthday. But I was in a great mood, and refused to let it get the best of me. Most of my favorite people remembered and called or wrote to wish me a happy day, so it was all good.

My mom and dad came over to take me out to dinner since Michele had one of her meetings. She asked me in advance if it was okay that she go to the meeting, and I just couldn't think of a single reason why I could be self-centered enough to say no. She just missed my dinner with my parents, and that's really not fun for her, anyway.

Michele got me a cake with butter cream icing and a bottle of champagne. She also got me some flowers and a card. She ordered me some stuff off my Amazon wish list, but it hasn't come in yet, which is fine...It just means I get a surprise later. And I can wait. No biggee.

Went to the dentist yesterday, too. I had a jolt of happiness on the way to the dentist because it was my birthday, I was happy, and "Rocket Queen" by GnR was playing on the radio. The dentist's office made a HUGE deal out of me getting married. Not that I told them WHO I was marrying. But I told them we were getting married in Vermont, and just let it go at that. They congratulated me several times.

I can't wait to go home and have some of that cake. I. Need. Cake.

OH, and the comments aren't working because the service that provides them for me is down. He expects to have the server up again today. Sadly, I keep checking to see if it's up, even though I know I won't have any comments.
