Some things never change.
I was just chatting with my mother about the disappointment of an A-, and how I should really be pleased because I wasn't sure I could expect an A in the course. She replied with this story:
I remember once in elementary school, you made a 99 on a math test and were really upset. You kept asking yourself why you missed that 1 point and saying that you had made a stupid mistake and that you shouldn't have made that mistake and on and on. I had a hard time getting you to get off your own case! It was like "Dawn, you made a 99! That is great!" Then you would say "But I shouldn't have missed that easy question!" Then I would say "Relax, You are doing okay." Then you again - *Roll eyes & Sigh* then stomp off to your room.
