School's Out for Two Weeks! (To the tune of Alice Cooper's School's Out)
Man, I feel good today.
Work is still a big mess, and I should totally be working right now. But I'm having that "feels so funny to be free" (Amy Ray reference) feeling, and when I have that, I gotta run with it!
I actually have an exciting story to tell. Okay, so maybe it isn't all that exciting, but it made me happy.
Saturday, Michele and I went to Furr's. On our way in, I saw those machines where you use the mechanical arm to get stuffed animals. No big deal. But then I saw a hint of pink and red. So, I ran over there and did the whole "Ohnh! Awww!" thing. We ate.
Afterwards, Michele was paying, and I stood in front of the machine with my eyes glazed over looking at a Strawberry Shortcake doll. I challenged Michele that I thought she could get SScake's cat, Custard. And she did! But when the machine dropped it, wouldn't you know, it got stuck. A stupid dinosaur's tail was blocking the hole. She wanted to move the dinosaur so Custard would fall, but I was like, 'No way!'. There was a SScake right on top. My strategy was for her to hit Custard with SSCake, and maybe, if the stars were aligned correctly, we'd get both. She did and we did! It was so exciting. I squealed and jumped up in down in the lobby of Furr's. Yes, I really did.
On the way home, Michele had her sunroof open. Have you ever seen the Arby's commercial with the oven mitt riding in the car, and hanging out the sunroof? Well, I did that. I held her out of the sunroof and yelled, "Wooo! Life can be a Berry! Berry, Berry Grand! I'm Berry happy!" Michele was mortified. I didn't care. I had a Strawberry Shortcake plush. She is sitting right here on my desk. Custard is behind me. Custard is bigger than SSCake, and it bugs me that her cat is bigger than she is.
